49-Year-Old Passenger Pronounced Dead after Three-Vehicle Collision near Farm-to-Market Road 1925
EDINBURG, TX (April 29, 2024) – Saturday evening, Edgar Ivan Garcia was killed in a 3-car accident on Uresti Road.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m., near Farm-to-Market Road 1925 on April 20th.
According to reports, the driver of a silver Chevrolet Malibu, a black Chevrolet Tahoe, and a white Chevrolet Camaro were involved in the collision.
Investigators say the driver of a Malibu was heading eastbound on FM 1925 when the driver failed to control the vehicle. He then crossed over to the westbound lanes and crashed into a mailbox and fence.
The Camaro traveling behind the Malibu, then maneuvered to avoid hitting it, but instead crashed into a westbound Chevrolet Tahoe.
Despite life-saving efforts, 49-year-old Garcia, who was a passenger inside the Malibu, died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot without rendering aid or contacting authorities.
Meanwhile, four occupants from the Tahoe, and the driver of the Camaro, sustained minor injuries. Paramedics transported all four to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
At this time, the suspect is still at large, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Texas Department of Public Safety at 956-565-7600.
