Woman Dead, Man Arrested after DUI Collision on Main Street [Santa Ana, CA]
Female Passenger Pronounced Dead after Solo-Vehicle Crash near Bishop Street
SANTA ANA, CA (April 25, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, a suspected DUI collision on Main Street took the life of a female passenger.
Authorities responded to the scene around 2:08 a.m., at the 800 block of Main Street, near West Bishop Street.
According to the investigators, the driver of a southbound truck lost control of the vehicle on Main Street. Consequently, the truck crashed into a palm tree before striking a nearby pole and coming to a stop.
Responding units from the Orange County Fire Authority transported the three occupants of the vehicle to a hospital. Due to the extent of her condition, police said the front female passenger succumbed to her injuries a short while later.
Meanwhile, the rear male passenger and the male driver of the vehicle remained in stable condition.
Following preliminary duties, investigators determined that the male driver was under the influence at the time of the crash. As a result, police arrested the suspect for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter.
