31-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near County Road 446

GRIMES COUNTY, TX (April 24, 2024) – Friday, Jon Archer was killed and Kaylin Corbin was hurt in a semi-truck crash on State Highway 105.

Shortly before 7:50 a.m., officers responded to the scene near County Road 446 on April 5th.

Upon arrival, officers determined that 29-year-old Corbin was driving a 2021 Nissan passenger car.

For reasons under investigation, the Nissan veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an eastbound 2015 Freightliner semi-truck.

Inside the Nissan was a 3-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a front seat passenger. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the front seat passenger, 31-year-old Archer dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics took Corbin and the 3-year-old child to CHI St. Joseph Regional Health Hospital. The 4-year-old child was taken to Memorial Herman with serious injuries.

In addition, the semi-truck driver did not obtain any injuries from the collision. Further investigation is currently being handled by the authorities.
