Irma Pedraza Dies in Red-Light DUI Accident on Orangethorpe Avenue [Fullerton, CA]
62-Year-Old Anaheim Woman Pronounced Dead after Three-Vehicle Collision near Harbor Boulevard
FULLERTON, CA (April 18, 2024) – Early Monday morning, Irma Pedraza was killed in a red-light DUI accident on Orangethorpe Avenue.
Authorities responded to the scene around 12:11 a.m., near Harbor Boulevard after receiving multiple dispatch calls.
Per reports, the driver of a southbound white BMW 428i rear-ended a blue Toyota RAV 4 that was stopped at the red light in the southbound No. 1 lane.
The BMW also struck the driver’s side of a black Chevrolet Silverado that was stopped at a red light in the No. 2 lane.
Responding medical personnel declared the woman in the RAV 4’s passenger seat dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased woman as 62-year-old Pedraza, of Anaheim.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed a 22-year-old and a 25-year-old Anaheim resident to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The 18-year-old driver of the Chevrolet was treated and ultimately released from the scene.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, the Fullerton Police Department believed that intoxication played a role in the incident.
