Qinglei Li Killed in Head-On Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 105 [Grimes County, TX]
53-Year-Old Professor Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Accident near County Road 417
GRIMES COUNTY, TX (April 16, 2024) – Monday morning, Qinglei Li died in a head-on semi-truck crash on Highway 105.
The incident occurred around 9:00 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near County Road 417 on April 1st.
For reasons under investigation, Li was driving a 2016 Nissan Rouge and veered into oncoming traffic. There, Li collided head-on with an eastbound 2001 Kenworth 18-wheeler semi-truck. Li was also struck by another 2024 Hyundai Palisade.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 53-year-old Li dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, both the drivers of the truck and the Hyundai sustained minor injuries, and authorities transported them to CHI St. Joseph Hospital – College Station and CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital.
No additional information was added by the authorities, and an active investigation remains underway.
