Two Men Pronounced Dead after Solo-Vehicle Accident near Karen Lane
JURUPA VALLEY, CA (April 16, 2024) – Monday, Mauricio Juarez and Guillermo Morales were killed in a single-car crash on Sierra Avenue.
Witnesses reported what they thought was an abandoned vehicle in a brushy area around 3:15 p.m. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.
Based on the initial investigation, the car had damage consistent with a collision. Upon arrival, investigators determined that a car had lost control and crashed into a shallow ravine near the Oak Quarry Golf Club.
Responding authorities declared the two men from the vehicle dead at the scene. On Tuesday, the coroner’s bureau identified the two victims as 41-year-old Guillermo Morales and 38-year-old Mauricio Juarez. Officials said both victims were originally from Fontana.
Emergency personnel closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Currently, the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team is leading the investigation.
