13-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Collision on Northern Avenue
GLENDALE, AZ (April 16, 2024) – Thursday night, Elias Bizzle was hurt and Joshua Holbert was arrested after a hit-and-run on 47th Avenue.
The incident occurred near Northern Avenue, shortly after 7:30 a.m on April 11th.
Per reports, 13-year-old Bizzle was leading a group of friends riding their bicycles through an intersection. There, 27-year-old John Holbert struck Bizzle with his vehicle.
Upon impact, Holbert fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police officers. Meanwhile, Bizzle’s companions stayed to help. Paramedics arrived and quickly transported Bizzle to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.
On April 13th, Holbert surrendered to Glendale Police and was processed on Saturday.
Authorities have refrained from disclosing details regarding the vehicle involved. Detectives are actively pursuing leads to establish who had the right-of-way during the collision.
