49-Year-Old Man Arrested after DUI Collision near South Craycroft Road

TUCSON, AZ (April 11, 2024) – Monday night, Carlos Nerio was arrested and a man and woman were injured after a DUI crash on Golf Links Road.

First responders arrived to the scene around 7:00 p.m., near South Craycroft Road on April 1st.

At this time, the events leading up to the incident remain unclear. However, reports indicate that two vehicles collided near the intersection.

Medical personnel located a man and a woman with life-threatening injuries. Paramedics immediately transported both victims to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Following preliminary duties, authorities determined that the suspect, 49-year-old Carlos Nerio, was impaired. Nerio was charged with 4 counts of endangerment, aggravated assault causing serious physical injury, and criminal damage.

Meanwhile, the area was blocked for several hours and motorists were advised to avoid the driving in the vicinity. All lanes were reopened afterwards.
