Man Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near Lee Trevino

EL PASO, TX (April 10, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, Steve Elijah Carmona was killed in a semi-truck accident on Interstate 10.

Officers responded to the scene just before 5:00 p.m., near the Lee Trevino off-ramp on March 23rd.

Furthermore, the Special Traffic Investigations Unit was dispatched to the scene where they found multiple vehicles including a semi-truck, and other vehicles overturned. At least five vehicles were involved in the collision.

In addition, the wreck resulted in the death of Carmona. Paramedics also transported another injured victim to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

During cleanup and preliminary duties, authorities blocked the lanes of the interstate at Lee Trevino and Gateway East for several hours before it was reopened.
