80-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Single-Car Accident near Morongo Trail

CABAZON, CA (April 10, 2024) – Late Sunday morning, Pedro Valle was killed in a solo-vehicle collision on Interstate 10.

Authorities responded to the scene shortly after 11:00 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway just east of the Morongo Trail exit.

According to California Highway Patrol, the driver of a Toyota Camry lost control of the vehicle for reasons unknown, causing it to veer off the roadway. 

Consequently, the Camry crashed into a tree, leaving the driver with fatal injuries. Police later identified the deceased driver as 80-year-old Valle, of Yucaipa.

No other vehicles were involved in the fatal accident. At this time, further circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. 

Emergency personnel closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.
