32-Year-Old Victim Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Cross Creek Road

MALIBU, CA (April 10, 2024) – Early Friday morning, Dimitri Failla was fatally struck by a tanker-truck on Pacific Coast Highway.

Dispatchers received calls around 6:35 a.m., near Cross Creek Road on March 29th.

For reasons under investigation, Failla was in the roadway when the driver of a passing semi-truck struck the pedestrian. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 32-year-old Failla deceased at the scene.

Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities shut down both directions until about 10:30 a.m.

Emergency personnel shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, the circumstances that led up to the incident remain unknown. Currently, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
