60-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Colliding with SUV near Robbins Street

LONGVIEW, WA (April 4, 2024) – Thursday afternoon, Kenneth Kell was fatally struck in a motorcycle collision on State Route 4.

Police officers responded to the scene around 1:50 p.m., near Robbins Street on March 14th after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

Per reports, Kell was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on State Route 4 at high rates of speed. Meanwhile, Korbi Sorrell was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tracker SUV and attempting to turn left onto the eastbound lanes, where two vehicles collided.

First responders located the SUV in the center lane. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 60-year-old Kell, of Longview dead at the scene. Investigators say Kell was wearing his helmet but it was non-USDOT compliant.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding roadway for a brief time during clearing operations.

Meanwhile, 43-year-old Sorrell remained uninjured. Further investigation is being handled by the Washington State Patrol. Once available, more details will be provided about the fatal collision near Robbins Road.
