22-Year-Old Man Dies in Two-Car Accident near Raul Longoria Road

SAN JUAN, TX (April 2, 2024) – Tuesday evening, Roberto Carlos Rios was killed in a head-on collision on Farm-to-Market Road 495.

Authorities responded to the scene near Raul Longoria Road on March 26th shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

According to the San Juan Police Department, two vehicles collided head-on at the intersection resulting in severe injuries to both drivers.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medical personnel pronounced 22-year-old Rios deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics took the other involved driver to a local hospital for further treatment.

The loved ones of Rios set up a GoFundMe page to help with costs during this devastating time.

Emergency crews shut down the surrounding roadway for a brief time during clearing operations. Authorities have not released any additional information and an active investigation remains ongoing. Once available, further details will be provided.
