Motorcyclist Dead, 12-Year-Old Girl Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Crash near Hazeltine Avenue

LOS ANGELES, CA (April 2, 2024) – Late Friday morning, one rider was killed and a teen girl was hurt in a bus collision on Bessemer Street.

Around 11:00 a.m., police responded to the scene near Hazeltine Avenue after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

For reasons under investigation, a westbound Metro bus on the G Line collided with a motorcyclist near the intersection. 

First responders declared the male rider dead at the scene due to the extent of injuries sustained. However, his identity remains undisclosed to the public. 

Meanwhile, paramedics transported his 12-year-old female passenger to Valley Presbyterian Hospital for further treatment of unspecified injuries. Police have not yet disclosed her identity.

In the end, Los Angeles Officials closed the Metro Orange Line at Hazeltine “until further notice”. The circumstances that led up to the fatal bus collision on Bessemer Street remain unclear. At this time, an active investigation is still currently ongoing.
