27-Year-Old Man Killed in High-Speed Crash near Mowry Avenue
FREMONT, CA (April 2, 2024) – Saturday evening, Daniel Thrower was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 880.
Police officers responded to the scene around 8:38 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway just north of Mowry Avenue.
For reasons under investigation, the driver of a white sedan lost control and eventually veered off the road. The car then struck a nearby tree before coming to a stop. Investigators also say a blue Toyota Prius was involved, however, the driver fled the scene before returning.
Responding medical personnel declared the woman driving the white sedan deceased at the scene. However, her name remains undisclosed to the public.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics also pronounced 27-year-old Thrower, of El Sobrante deceased.
Officials claimed that extreme weather surrounding the area of Fremont contributed to the crash. Those who witnessed the fatal Interstate 880 two-vehicle collision are encouraged to contact the California Highway Patrol.
