20-Year-Old Female Driver Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Accident near Mile Post 35
YAKIMA COUNTY, WA (April 1, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, Jazmine Gutierrez was killed in a rear-end collision on Interstate 82.
The incident occurred around 2:35 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near milepost 35 on March 16th.
Washington State Patrol officers say Gutierrez was heading east at high rates of speed and rear-ended another vehicle. Due to the impact of the collision, both vehicles were totaled.
Medical personnel later pronounced 20-year-old Gutierrez dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver and two passengers from the other vehicle did not obtain any injuries.
Emergency crews closed down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, the cause of the collision remains under investigation. Once available, further details will be provided.
