Janely Magali Bautista Arrested, Man Dead after DUI Accident on Gopher Canyon Road [Bonsall, CA]
Male Passenger Killed in Wrong-Way Collision near Hoxie Ranch Road
BONSALL, CA (March 27, 2024) – Late Sunday night, Janely Magali Bautista was arrested after a fatal DUI accident on Gopher Canyon Road.
Dispatchers received calls in the area around 11:24 p.m., just east of Hoxie Ranch Road.
Investigators say the driver of an eastbound brown Chevrolet Silverado veered into the westbound lanes. Consequently, the Silverado collided with a Toyota Camry traveling in the opposing lanes.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one male victim deceased. Meanwhile, medics transported a 51-year-old woman from Vista driving the Camry and her 52-year-old male passenger to a hospital.
Following preliminary duties, police arrested the Silverado driver – identified as 29-year-old Janely Magali Bautista of Valley Center – for gross vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI.
Bonsall Officials closed both lanes of Gopher Canyon Road for investigation. Those who witnessed the fatal DUI crash are encouraged to contact the CHP Oceanside office at 760-643-3400.
