22-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead Two-Car Accident near Lake Bryan

BRYAN, TX (March 27, 2024) – Late Sunday morning, Alyssa Schoeneman was killed in a head-on collision on OSR.

First responders arrived to the scene around 11:20 a.m., just north of Lake Bryan on March 24th.

Officers say the driver of an eastbound 2019 Kia Optima attempted to overtake another vehicle in a no-passing zone. As a result, the Kia collided head-on with a westbound 2009 Toyota Corolla.

Medics arrived and pronounced a passenger from inside the Toyota, 22-year-old Schoeneman deceased. Meanwhile, paramedics took the Toyota driver, 22-year-old Joshua Koppenol, and the Kia driver, 17-year-old Alan Hernandez to a nearby hospital.
