35-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Rainbow Road
GOODYEAR, AZ (March 25, 2024) – Friday, Megan Maiorana was killed and Anthony Maiorana was arrested after a DUI crash on Willis Road.
The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m., near Rainbow Road on March 22nd.
Officers say Anthony was driving at high speeds when he lost control and veered off the road, into a nearby lake. The vehicle became submerged in water when Anthony freed himself from the car.
Meanwhile, his passenger Megan Maiorana, was left trapped inside. A team of divers found Megan’s body with the seat belt still on, pronouncing her dead at the scene.
Anthony was hospitalized before being booked into Maricopa County jail on various charges. According to authorities, his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was .234. Further investigation is currently ongoing.
