58-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Accident near Highway 37

ATASCOSA COUNTY, TX (March 25, 2024) – Wednesday morning, Lucinda McKennon Cochran was killed in a big-rig crash on State Highway 97.

The incident happened around 9:20 a.m., near Highway 37 on March 13th.

For reasons under investigation, 58-year-old Cochran was driving a blue Honda Fit and ran through a stop sign. There, she collided with an 18-wheeler truck, sending the big-rig into a nearby embankment.

Paramedics transported the male semi-truck driver to University Hospital for further treatment of minor injuries. Meanwhile, medics pronounced Cochran deceased at the scene.
