21-Year-Old Victim Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Baseline Road

PHOENIX, AZ (March 25, 2024) – Early Friday morning, Jaylynn James was killed in a pedestrian crash on 35th Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 3:00 a.m., near Baseline Road on March 22nd.

According to reports, the driver of a vehicle struck James outside of a marked crosswalk. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced 21-year-old James dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe that impairment played a factor.
