Two Dead, One Hospitalized after Single-Car Accident near Willow Avenue
FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 25, 2024) – Monday, Chase McCutcheon and Jason Phillips were killed in a solo-car collision on Copper Avenue.
The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m., near Willow Avenue and Clovis North High School.
According to reports, the driver of a Tesla Model 3 was heading west on Copper and crashed into a center median guardrail. As a result, the vehicle overturned and hit another guardrail before coming to a stop.
The impact ejected the driver and the front seat passenger, leaving them with fatal injuries. The Fresno County Coroner identified the deceased victims as 32-year-old Chase McCutcheon and 24-year-old Jason Phillips.
Responding paramedics transported a third passenger to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries. Fresno County Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the Copper Avenue solo-vehicle crash.
