24-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Sycamore Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 25, 2024) – Friday night, Carlosm Ibrahim Perez Zamora was killed in a pedestrian collision on Wheler Ridge Road.
Authorities responded to the scene around 11:42 p.m., near Sycamore Road.
Per reports, the driver of a southbound Toyota sedan struck a man who was walking directly into their path. The 33-year-old male driver of the Toyota was unable to avoid the pedestrian and hit them.
Shortly after, the 40-year-old male driver of a southbound Honda struck the man while he was down on the road.
Responding medical personnel declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased victim as 24-year-old Zamora, of Arvin.
Investigators said the two drivers involved stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the authorities. Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the incident.
