9-Year-Old Boy Pronounced Dead after Scooter Accident near San Paula Avenue

DALLAS, TX (March 21, 2024) – Early Tuesday night, Max Hutchins was fatally struck in a scooter collision on Materhorn Drive.

The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m., near San Paula Avenue on March 12th.

Officers say the driver of a pickup-truck struck 9-year-old Hutchins as he was riding an electric-scooter near the intersection. As a result, paramedics transported the young child to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries.

Due to the extent of his condition, Hutchins later succumbed to his injuries on Friday, March 15th.
The victim’s family made the decision to donate his organs.

The loved ones of Hutchins started a GoFundMe page to help with costs during this difficult time.
