Driver Killed in Fiery Semi-Truck Accident on State Route 77 [Tucson, AZ]
One Pronounced Dead after Three-Vehicle Collision near Biosphere 2
TUCSON, AZ (March 21, 2024) – Monday morning, one driver was killed in a fiery semi-truck accident on State Route 77.
Shortly after 11:00 a.m., first responders arrived to the southbound lanes of the freeway near Biospere 2 on March 11th.
Officers say the driver of a northbound semi-truck crossed over the southbound lanes and struck a commercial vehicle. Upon impact, the semi-truck overcorrected and struck a passenger vehicle.
The big-rig then overturned and became engulfed in flames.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one driver dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
Paramedics also took another driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided about the fatal semi-truck accident on State Route 77.
