Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Accident on East Shelbourne Avenue [Las Vegas, NV]
56-Year-Old Woman Walking her Dog Dies after Being Hit by Vehicle
LAS VEGAS, NV (March 19, 2024) – On Wednesday evening, a fatal pedestrian accident was reported in the area of East Shelbourne Avenue.
The tragic incident happened on March 13th around 6:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the avenue, just west of Rancho Destino Road.
Furthermore, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that a 56-year-old woman was walking with her dog in the westbound lanes when she got struck by a Ford F-150 also headed west.
As a result, the woman suffered life-threatening injuries, and responding paramedics rushed her to University Medical Center for treatment.
Unfortunately, the woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital, and she was declared dead. Her identity was withheld at the moment.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford remained at the scene and cooperated with the troopers. Police say that glare from the setting sun is likely to be the contributing factor. An active investigation remains underway.
