66-Year-Old Impaired Driver Dies after Crashing with Traffic Sign near West Ajo Way
TUCSON, AZ (March 13, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, police responded to a single-vehicle crash that killed William Charles Carter.
On March 5th, the Tucson Police Department responded near the area of South 6th Avenue and West Ajo Way following a tragic car accident.
Upon arriving, they found a vehicle crashed into a traffic sign. It was still occupied by 66-year-old Carter who was then pronounced dead.
Furthermore, the authorities found out that Carter had drugs on his system before driving. Also, he was not wearing his seatbelt.
Moreover, the authorities determined that Carter headed westbound on Ajo Way and lost control of his vehicle, crashing into the traffic sign.
At this time, speed, drugs, or impairment, are suspected as the factors of the incident. Further investigation is still ongoing.
