Child Hospitalized after Pedestrian Crash near West 3rd Street
PERRIS, CA (March 11, 2023) – Louie Ahmad Qutami was arrested after injuring a child in a pedestrian crash on South C Street.
Police officers responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., near West 3rd Street on February 14th.
Per reports, Qutami was driving a southbound 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup-truck and clipped a parked vehicle. As Qutami attempted to drive away, he struck the young child who was crossing C Street with his family.
The suspect then fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and transported the child to Riverside University Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. His family members did not sustain injuries from the collision.
On Friday evening, police managed to locate and arrest 29-year-old Louie Ahmad Qutami. Perris Officials booked him into Byrd Detention Center for suspicion of hit-and-run and several other charges.
