44-Year-Old Man Involved in Motorcycle Accident near Mitchell Road

MODESTO, CA (March 7, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, Shane Hebner was involved in a fatal motorcycle collision on Tenaya Drive.

Authorities responded to the scene around 3:00 p.m., near Mitchell Road.

Investigators say the rider of a westbound 1992 Suzuki motorcycle crossed the double yellow lines to pass a car while approaching the bend in the roadway. 

There, the rider went into the path of a Freightliner tractor-trailer traveling in the opposing lanes, and struck the left side of the big-rig. 

Responding medical personnel transported the rider to Memorial Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. At this time, the deceased rider’s name remains undisclosed to the public.

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old Manteca man driving the big rig, identified as Shane Hebner, did not sustain injuries from the collision. In the end, the CHP closed the surrounding area for clearing operations.
