Man and Woman Pronounced Dead after Solo-Vehicle Accident near West Loma Alta Drive

ALTADENA, CA (March 7, 2024) – Early Tuesday, John Michael Ross and Emalie Marie Ortiz were killed in a fiery crash on Loma View Drive.

Authorities responded to the scene around 12:30 a.m., at 64 West Loma View Drive near West Loma Alta Drive.

Per reports, the driver of an Audi SUV crashed into a parked 2008 Volvo CX 90. The impact of the collision caused the parked SUV to spin multiple times and the Audi to overturn. 

Upon arrival, first responders located the overturned 2019 Audi Q5 fully engulfed in flames. According to reports, the driver lost control while traveling at a high rate of speed. 

Responding emergency personnel declared the man and the woman inside the Audi dead at the scene. 

The medical examiner’s office later identified the deceased victims as John Michael Ross (29) of Altadena and Emalie Marie Ortiz (23)  of Alhambra.
