Dual-Car Collision near Barstow Avenue Left 65-Year-Old Woman Dead
FRESNO, CA (March 7, 2024) – Late Tuesday morning, a two-vehicle crash on Dickenson Avenue claimed the life of Elida Fernandez.
The deadly collision happened around 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Dickenson and Barstow Avenues.
According to the police, a southbound Hyundai Sonota failed to stop at a posted stop sign for unknown reasons.
As a result, the driver collided with a GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling west on Barstow.
The first responders declared the driver of the Sonota dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the paramedics transported the 45-year-old man driving the GMC to a hospital for minor injuries.
Later, the CHP identified the deceased Sonata driver as 65-year-old Elida Fernandez of Fresno.
The investigators said both parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident. Anyone with additional information regarding the fatal two-vehicle crash is encouraged to contact the Fresno Officials as soon as possible.
