Three Pronounced Dead after Mini Cooper Collision near Treasure Island

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 6, 2024) – Early Thursday, Sean Luttjohann, Lorissa Weller, and Bim Thorpe died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 80.

The incident occurred around 4:14 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of Bay Bridge just west of Treasure Island.

For reasons under investigation, a red Mini Cooper was stalled in the eastbound lanes. There, the driver of a Toyota Tacoma slammed into the stopped vehicle.

First responders declared the two people inside the Mini Cooper deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported another passenger from the same vehicle to San Francisco General Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries Thursday afternoon. 

Medical responders also rushed the Tacoma driver to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
