Truck Vs. Pedestrian Collision near Hollywood Boulevard Left One Fatality
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 6, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, a pedestrian crash on North Vermont Avenue involving a big rig claimed the life of a man.
Police responded to the fatal collision around 2:20 p.m. at the 1600 block of N. Vermont Avenue, near Hollywood Boulevard.
Upon further investigation, officials learned that a Sysco food truck hit the pedestrian while turning west onto Hollywood Blvd.
The first responders said the pedestrian sustained major injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, the truck driver remained at the site of the incident and cooperated with the authorities.
It was believed that the man was part of the unhoused community. The Los Angeles Police Department will release the identity of the deceased victim once the next of kin has been notified.
