Three Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Phillips Boulevard
POMONA, CA (March 5, 2024) – Saturday, a DUI crash on White Avenue claimed the lives of Yesenia Olaez, Lorena Morales, and Alejandra Olaez.
Police responded to the scene shortly before 11:00 p.m., near the intersection of White Avenue and Phillips Boulevard.
For DUI related reasons, the driver of a speeding SUV slammed into another vehicle, occupied by a family on their way home from a baby shower.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced three occupants inside the vehicle that was hit dead at the scene. Authorities later identified the victims as 33-year-old Yesenia, Lorena, and 33-year-old Alejandra.
Meanwhile, the front-seat passenger and the husband of Lorena – Juan Manuel “Jaime” Garcia – was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. The daughter of Alejandra, identified as 12-year-old Noemi Olaez also remained at the hospital in the intensive care unit.
Following the crash, authorities arrested the SUV driver, identified as 36-year-old Victor Siharath, for felony DUI.
At this time, Pomona Officials are asking those who witnessed the fatal collision to contact the department’s Traffic Services Bureau at 909-620-2048.
