Rider Fatally Struck in Motorcycle-Auto Collision near N Street
SACRAMENTO, CA (March 5, 2024) – Sunday morning, a hit-and-run on 8th Street in downtown Sacramento took the life of Marvin Alcides Moran.
The fatal collision occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. in the area of 8th and N Streets.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, an unknown vehicle hit the rider and fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
Responding medical personnel transported the 22-year-old man to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Additionally, authorities later released the name of the victim as Marcin Alcides Moran.
Police have not released any additional information regarding the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle. The department’s Major Collision Investigations Unit is leading the investigation. Crews worked to clear wreckage from the scene and the roadway has been reopened to the public.
