Multi-Vehicle Crash near Highway 155 Left 52-Year-Old Man Dead
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 5, 2024) – A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 65 near Delano took the life of a male driver early Friday evening.
The CHP responded to the collision around 5:30 p.m. along Highway 65, just north of Highway 155.
According to the report, a wheel from a trailer being hauled by a truck fell off for unknown reasons.
Subsequently, the detached wheel hit a semi-truck going southbound and a Toyota traveling northbound on the highway.
The semi-truck then veered into the northbound lanes and collided with a Honda traveling behind the Toyota.
Responding medical personnel declared the driver of the Honda dead at the scene. However, their identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver was transported to a hospital for unspecified injuries. It was unclear if the Toyota driver suffered injuries.
Reports indicated that the unknown truck hauling the trailer continued going northbound on Highway 65.
