82-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Calle Del Mar

LAS VEGAS, NV (March 5, 2024) – Wednesday evening, Leonida Jones was fatally struck in a pedestrian crash on Tropicana Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 7:10 p.m., near Calle Del Mar, just east of Boulder Highway on February 21st.

Per reports, the driver of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 struck Jones as she was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk. Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced 82-year-old Jones dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained in the area and cooperated with the investigation. Officers say he displayed no signs of impairment.
