23-Year-Old Murrieta Woman Fatally Struck in Solo-Vehicle Accident near Rainbow Canyon Road
TEMECULA, CA (March 5, 2024) – Early Friday morning, a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 15 led to the fatal pedestrian crash that claimed the life of Ariel Bridgeman.
The incident occurred shortly before 5:00 a.m. along the northbound lanes of the freeway, north of Rainbow Canyon Road.
According to CHP, a 2021 Honda Accord veered to the right and crashed into a CalTrans fence, colliding with the embankment.
The impact of the first crash sent the Accord back into the freeway where it spun out of control before coming to a stop in the middle lanes.
After the female driver exited her vehicle, a northbound 2017 Honda Civic hit the woman while traveling 70 mph.
Frst responders declared the female driver of the Accord deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, the 38-year-old Oceanside man driving the Civic was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for minor injuries.
Moreover, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
Later, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Coroner’s Bureau identified the deceased woman as 23-year-old Ariel Bridgeman of Murrieta. The California Highway Patrol does not suspect intoxication to be a factor in the collision.
