One Pronounced Dead after DUI Pedestrian Accident near 43rd Avenue Southeast
PUYALLUP, WA (March 4, 2024) – Tuesday morning, Kyle Sandstrom was arrested after a fatal pedestrian crash on South Meridian Street.
Police officers responded to the scene around 9:20 a.m., near 43rd Avenue Southeast on February 20th.
According to reports, Sandstrom was driving a pickup-truck and struck a pedestrian from behind who was walking on the shoulder. In addition, the pickup-truck also slammed into a Walgreens.
Upon arrival, first responders located a man down on the road. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the involved pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
Following preliminary duties, officers arrested 41-year-old Sandstrom for DUI and vehicular homicide and booked him into the Pierce County Jail with a bail set at $300,000.
