One Pronounced Dead after Three-Vehicle Collision near Indiana Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 29, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, one victim sustained fatal injuries in a fiery semi-truck crash on 5 Freeway. 

Officers responded to the scene around 2:45 a.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway near Indiana Street.

For reasons under investigation, two vehicles and big-rig collided in the area. In addition, one of the vehicles was pushed into an embankment where it caught fire.

Moreover, the semi-truck sustained damage to its trailer while the other vehicle sustained major front-end damages.

Responding medical personnel declared one person dead at the scene. However, their identity remains undisclosed to the public. 

In the end, the California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for the four lanes of 5 Freeway as crews cleared the scene. Those with additional information regarding the semi-truck accident on 5 Freeway are encouraged to contact the Los Angeles Officials immediately.
