Pedestrian and Motorcyclist Killed in High-Speed Crash on Coors Boulevard Northwest [Albuquerque, NM]

Two Pronounced Dead after High-Speed Motorcycle Accident near Irving Boulevard Northwest
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (February 28, 2024) – Tuesday, a pedestrian and a motorcyclist died in a high-speed crash on Coors Boulevard Northwest.
The incident happened just before 10:00 p.m., near Irving Boulevard Northwest on February 13th.
Investigators say two motorcyclists were racing at high rates of speeds when one rider slammed into a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The motorcyclist continued traveling about 450 feet before hitting a curb, a gas station sign and a tree.
Due to the impact of the crash, the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
Additionally, paramedics transported the rider to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Officers also say the other rider did not stop at the scene. Following preliminary duties, speed was listed as the factor, and authorities determined that the motorcycle was stolen. Further investigation is currently underway.
