Three-Vehicle Collision near Geneva Avenue On-Ramp Left Multiple People Hurt
SAN FRANCISO, CA (February 28, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a wrong-way crash on Interstate 280 left several people with injuries.
The CHP responded to the crash along the southbound lanes of I-280, just south of Geneva Avenue on-ramp.
According to the investigators, a wrong-way driver traveling from John Daly Drive entered the freeway in the wrong direction. However, the circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear.
Consequently, the crash blocked four of the five lanes of southbound Interstate 280.
At this time, the number of parties involved and the severity of their injuries remains unclear. Reports indicated that some patients were transported to a hospital for further medical treatment.
Furthermore, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. At around 4:05 p.m., all the lanes of the freeway have reopened.
