Arturo Sepulveda Carrera Arrested after Deadly Hit-and-Run Accident on Van Nuys Boulevard [Los Angeles, CA]
29-Year-Old Hispanic Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash near Remick Avenue
LOS ANGELES, CA (February 27, 2024) – Saturday, Arturo Sepulveda Carrera was arrested after a fatal hit-and-run on Van Nuys Boulevard.
Officers responded to the scene around 10:00 p.m., on the eastbound lanes of Van Nuys, near Remick Avenue.
For reasons under investigation, the driver of a silver Nissan Cube struck a male pedestrian in the area. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police.
Responding units from the LAFD transported the male pedestrian to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. At this time, officials only described the deceased victim as a 29-year-old Hispanic man.
Following preliminary duties, authorities managed to arrest the hit-and-run suspect identified as 70-year-old Arturo Sepulveda Carrera, of Van Nuys.
The LAPD booked Carrera in Van Nuys Jail for felony hit-and-run with his bail set to $50,000. Officials are asking those who witnessed the collision to contact the Valley Traffic Division Detective Otrosina at 818-644-8036.
