Woman Killed, Jesus Medina Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 14 [Bakersfield, CA]
61-Year-Old Ridgecrest Woman Pronounced Dead after 2-Car Accident near Highway 58
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 26, 2024) – Wednesday, one woman was killed and Jesus Medina was hurt in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 14.
Officers responded to the scene around 10:58 a.m., near the westbound Highway 58 off-ramp.
According to reports, the driver of a westbound 2005 Chevrolet 3500 collided with a 2015 Chrysler traveling northbound on Highway 14. However, further circumstances leading up remain unclear.
First responders declared the 61-year-old Ridgecrest woman driving the Chrysler dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed her passenger – 63-year-old Jesus Medina – to Antelope Valley Hospital for minor injuries.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased female driver once the next of kin has been notified. Police do not suspect intoxication to be a factor in the incident.
