Francisco Valencia-Saucedo Hospitalized after Head-On Collision near Mesquite Street
HESPERIA, CA (February 26, 2024) – Tuesday, Pedro Valencia-Perez, Rosa Saucedo-Negrete, and Jose Valencia-Saucedo died in a DUI crash.
Around 3:42 p.m., police responded to the scene on Mariposa Road, just south of Mesquite Street.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that a northbound 2016 Chevrolet Suburban drove into the southbound lanes. Consequently, the Chevy collided head-on with an oncoming 2005 Toyota Corolla, driven by Valencia-Perez.
Medics arrived and pronounced 58-year-old Valencia-Perez, of Barstow dead. In addition, crews also pronounced the two passengers, 59-year-old Saucedo-Negrete and 22-year-old Jose Valencia-Saucedo deceased.
Emergency personnel rushed a third passenger in the Toyota, 21-year-old Francisco Valencia-Saucedo to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Meanwhile, authorities arrested the Chevrolet driver – 45-year-old Pavlo “Pablo” Padilla of Victorville for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. Hesperia Officials are asking those who witnessed the fatal DUI crash to contact the Hesperia Station at 760-947-1500.
