Manuela Franco, Daniel Gamaperez, and Brini Moranflores Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on State Route 17 [Othello, WA]

Three Pronounced Dead after Big-Rig Collision near Othello
OTHELLO, WA (February 26, 2024) – Thursday morning, Manuela Franco, Daniel Gamaperez, and Brini Moranflores died in a semi-truck crash.
Officers responded to the scene around 7:00 a.m., on the northbound lanes of State Route 17 on February 15th.
Per reports, Franco was driving a southbound 2003 Toyota Corolla and lost control for reasons unknown. As a result, the Toyota veered into the northbound lanes and struck an oncoming semi-truck.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, crews pronounced 44-year-old Franco their passenger, 44-year-old Moranflores dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported Gamaperez to Othello Community Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
In addition, the driver of the semi-truck, 53-year-old Jeffrey Tibbs remained uninjured.
Following preliminary duties, police say that alcohol or drugs did not play a role, but speed from Manuela is suspected. An active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
