Single-Car Accident near Old River Road Left 20-Year-Old Bakersfield Man Dead
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 26, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, a car crash involving a single vehicle on Ming Avenue took the life of Gustavo Angel.
The deadly accident happened around 4:38 a.m. at the intersection of Ming Avenue and Old River Road.
According to the police, a vehicle veered off the road for unknown reasons and crashed into a tree.
Responding emergency personnel declared the driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the passenger from the car was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Later, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased driver as 20-year-old Gustavo Angel of Bakersfield.
Police suspect speed and impairment to be factors in the incident. Bakersfield Officials will provide more information about the fatal crash once available.
A portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties but has since been reopened.
