Driver and 15-Year-Old Passenger Pronounced Dead after Single-Vehicle Rollover Crash near Miles
RUNNELS COUNTY, TX (February 26, 2024) – Saturday, Ernest Joe Rose III and a teen died in a rollover crash on Farm-to-Market Road 3115.
Authorities responded to the scene just before 2:30 p.m., about 15 miles north of Miles on February 17th.
The Texas Department of Public Safety determined that 27-year-old Rose III was driving a Ford SUV south and veered off the road. He then veered back onto the lanes before skidding out and overturning.
Amidst the chaos, Rose III and his 15-year-old passenger were ejected onto the road. Investigators say neither of the occupants were wearing their seat belts.
Emergency crews arrived and pronounced Rose III and the teenage occupant dead at the scene. At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway.
