One Pronounced Dead after Car Accident near South Oroville
OROVILLE, CA (February 26, 2024) – Saturday morning, a solo crash on Kusel Road left Dakotah O’Reily and Richard Overturf injured.
The accident happened around 4:00 a.m. on Kusel Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.
At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. Although, authorities reported that a vehicle with multiple occupants had crashed in the area.
The driver, identified as Dakotah O’Reily, had a broken wrist and cuts and bruises to the face. The passenger, identified as Richard Overturf, had cuts and bruises.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced one victim dead at the scene. However, authorities have yet to release the name of one passenger who died in the crash.
Following preliminary duties, Dakotah O’Reily was arrested for vehicular manslaughter and for fleeing the scene of a fatal accident. Once available, further details will be provided.
