Gabriel Coronel and Brayden Aragon Arrested after Fatal 2-Car Accident on Pioneer Drive [Bakersfield, CA]
29-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Collision near Dennison Lane
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 22, 2024) – Saturday morning, Gabriel Coronel and Brayden Aragon was arrested after a fatal crash on Pioneer Drive.
The incident occurred around 1:35 p.m., near Dennison Lane.
Per reports, the driver of a westbound 2017 Chevrolet veered left and then over the solid double yellow lines. Consequently, the Chevy collided head-on with a 2015 Honda traveling eastbound on Pioneer Drive.
First responders declared a 29-year-old female passenger of the Honda dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the Honda driver, 29-year-old Aragon, and another passenger were transported to Kern Medical for unspecified injuries.
Emergency crews blocked both of the eastbound and westbound lanes of the roadway.
Following the collision, police arrested the Chevrolet driver – 33-year-old Gabriel Coronel – for felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. Aragon was also arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.
